Profile
Remco van de Pas was a research associate at the Centre for Planetary Health Policy (CPHP) from April 2022 to June 2024.Prior to joining CPHP, Remco was a researcher and lecturer on global health policy at the Institute of Tropical Medicine, Antwerp. Before that, he worked as policy adviser for Wemos, a public health foundation advocating for social justice and as medical coordinator for the NGO Médecins du Monde, of which the largest part in West-Papua, Indonesia. Remco practiced medicine in mental health services for refugees and migrants in Rotterdam, Netherlands. His research and teaching focuses on planetary and global health governance, its political economy and foreign policy with a special attention on health system strengthening, health finance and workforce employment, care economies, the socio-ecological determinants of health, public health functions, globalization and its impact on equity.
