Rem­co van de Pas was a rese­arch asso­cia­te at the Cent­re for Pla­ne­ta­ry Health Poli­cy (CPHP) from April 2022 to June 2024.Prior to joi­ning CPHP, Rem­co was a rese­ar­cher and lec­tu­rer on glo­bal health poli­cy at the Insti­tu­te of Tro­pi­cal Medi­ci­ne, Ant­werp. Befo­re that, he work­ed as poli­cy advi­ser for Wemos, a public health foun­da­ti­on advo­ca­ting for social jus­ti­ce and as medi­cal coor­di­na­tor for the NGO Méde­cins du Mon­de, of which the lar­gest part in West-Papua, Indo­ne­sia. Rem­co prac­ti­ced medi­ci­ne in men­tal health ser­vices for refu­gees and migrants in Rot­ter­dam, Net­her­lands. His rese­arch and tea­ching focu­ses on pla­ne­ta­ry and glo­bal health gover­nan­ce, its poli­ti­cal eco­no­my and for­eign poli­cy with a spe­cial atten­ti­on on health sys­tem streng­thening, health finan­ce and work­force employ­ment, care eco­no­mies, the socio-eco­lo­gi­cal deter­mi­nants of health, public health func­tions, glo­ba­liza­ti­on and its impact on equi­ty.
