Dr. Mir­jam Jen­ny

Sci­en­ti­fic Direc­tor | Insti­tu­te for Pla­ne­ta­ry Health Beha­vi­or | Uni­ver­si­ty of Erfurt

Dr. Mir­jam Jen­ny is a decis­i­on rese­ar­cher, sci­ence com­mu­ni­ca­tor, and net­wor­ker. Her goal is to empower indi­vi­du­als and orga­niza­ti­ons at the inter­sec­tion of sci­ence, socie­ty, and poli­tics to make evi­dence-based, risk-com­pe­tent, and sus­tainable decis­i­ons and to com­mu­ni­ca­te the­se effec­tively. Her focus is on cli­ma­te and health pro­tec­tion, public and pla­ne­ta­ry health, and sci­ence com­mu­ni­ca­ti­on.

Dr. Mir­jam Jen­ny is estab­li­shing the “Science2Society” divi­si­on at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Erfurt as sci­en­ti­fic direc­tor of the Insti­tu­te for Pla­ne­ta­ry Health Beha­viour and mem­ber of the Chair of Health Com­mu­ni­ca­ti­on. She most recent­ly foun­ded and led the Sci­ence Com­mu­ni­ca­ti­on Pro­ject Group at the Robert Koch Insti­tu­te and sup­port­ed the com­mu­ni­ca­ti­on efforts of the WHO Hub for Pan­de­mic and Epi­de­mic Intel­li­gence in Ber­lin. She also advi­ses various govern­ment and civil socie­ty orga­niza­ti­ons. Her work has been repor­ted on in natio­nal and inter­na­tio­nal media. Her rese­arch has been reco­gni­zed with awards inclu­ding the Otto Hahn Medal from the Max Planck Socie­ty.
