Dr. Karin Geffert, MD, has been a rese­arch asso­cia­te at the Chair of Public Health and Health Ser­vices Rese­arch at the Insti­tu­te for Medi­cal Infor­ma­tics, Bio­me­try and Epi­de­mio­lo­gy and at the Pet­ten­ko­fer School of Public Health at Lud­wig Maxi­mi­li­an Uni­ver­si­ty in Munich sin­ce 2019. The health sci­en­tist and phy­si­ci­an con­ducts rese­arch with a focus on sus­taina­bi­li­ty and public health sys­tems. She has gai­ned prac­ti­cal work expe­ri­ence in public health at the local, natio­nal, and inter­na­tio­nal levels, as evi­den­ced by her con­tri­bu­ti­on to the WHO’s Water and Cli­ma­te pro­gram.

Her rese­arch inte­rests include sus­taina­bi­li­ty in the con­text of public health, public health nut­ri­ti­on, inte­gra­ted know­ledge trans­la­ti­on bet­ween sci­ence, poli­cy, and prac­ti­ce, as well as poli­cy field ana­ly­ses, sys­te­ma­tic reviews, and qua­li­ta­ti­ve and mixed-methods approa­ches in public health.
